Obesity is a hormonal disorder

Obesity has now become a major health problem worldwide. Obesity is a state of being overweight, and obesity can result from a number of genetic, hormonal, and environmental factors. Obesity is a global pandemic and it is affecting nearly 1/3rd of the population worldwide. In India, more than 10% of children are obese with 10-30% of adult Indians being overweight or obese.
Dr. Fung States that counting calories will not result in weight loss as a consistent reduction in calorie intake also means a consistent reduction of the body’s energy used.
Also, if a person consistently consumes fewer calories it results in symptoms such as irritability, fatigue, apathy, and even depression. Eventually, it will lead people to fall off their wagon and return to their old eating habits.
Also, people who have a tendency to starve for weight loss ultimately overeat when presented with an unlimited amount of food. Counting calories is equal to the treatment of symptoms rather than eliminating the cause.

He argues that we not only should check what we eat but also when we eat. He advises fasting several times a week. Pay attention to your body, and seek medical help if you need it.
